      Description:
Bill Allen Memorial Park is a very well kept 9 hole course located North of Dallas between Plano and Lewisville in The Colony. There are concrete T-pads and all the holes are well marked with accurate signs. The park is very well kept. I've never played in a park quite like this one. The grass was cut very short, there are all sorts of undulations in the ground that gives the course a "ball-golf" look and feel and there are decorative street lamps every few hundred feet. There are several "aceable" holes throughout the course, but still give props to the well thought-out pin placements. Hole #4 is pretty challenging and unique, even though it's only 160 ft. If you can't par hole #7, you're banned from playing here again. To Birdie this hole, you feel the same as when you last dunked a basketball on an 8 foot goal over a group of 6th graders. It' s a 150 foot hole that has no trees or other obstacles and is the equivalent to most courses' practice tees, but I must admit it IS fun going for the ace with your short disc.

The highlight of this course is no doubt hole #8. It's the courses' lone 400 ft hole that slopes gradually down thru a rolling "ball golf like" fairway, then thru an opening in a tree line to a well formed green. Be proud of your par here. Hole #9 is also a pretty hole.

The only potential drawback about the course is that if you are a left handed thrower or a righty that wants to take a wide approach to the end of the t-pad, you have to be careful because they embedded the hole marker signs into the concrete in the left side of each t-pad. This may have seemed like an innovation at the time, but it's just a nuisance. Overall, I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to play a fun round (or 3) of disc golf. It may serve as a confidence booster as well since playing par or under par here is very possible for most amateurs.
